B're (Cairbre)Character type: Dragonrider Appearance: Upon arrival to the Weyr Cairbre was still on the small side, waiting for that final growth spurt. And boy did that growth spirt hit, after several months at the Weyr Cairbre will be pushing over six feet by the time this growth spurt has ended. His features are still slender, petite, and almost feminine looking, though he is clearly well muscled enough that it makes him clearly look like a boy. The muscles are developed from swimming and show mostly in his legs and stomach. But since becoming a candidate more muscle had filled out and his shoulders have broadend some. His skin is a very light brown color and remains so even if he stays out in the sun for a long time giving off the impression that he really doesn't burn or tan. His hair that had started off as a light sandy-brown color as a child has turned almost a white-blond from sun exposure and falls straight to almost the middle of his back. He doesn't keep it any longer or any shorter then that and he keeps it tied back in a tight pony tail giving the impression from the front that his hair is very short and close cropped. He has dark gray eyes, the color of the ocean almost before a storm, though they very rarely ever look angry and are normal soft and gentle looking. He has a small nose that sits above full lips, and settled between prominent cheekbones. Though handsome is not a word I would use to describe him, though beautiful might work. His limbs are long and don't quite fit his body just yet and one would assume he would be clumsy with them but he is rather graceful in his movements. It's hard to imagine what he'll look like if that final growth spurt ever reaches him. Though his physical appearance appears that puberty hasn't ended for him, his voice has already changed and doesn't quite fit his appearance as it's rather deep but very soft and it's hard to imagine it ever being used in anger, though it as. Since Cairbre spends most of his time in the water he'd prefer to run around in swim trunks and sandals all day, it's kind of hard to get him to actually put on a shirt or pants unless it gets downright cold. The only jewelry he wears and two small silver hoops in one ear. Personality: Cairbre is a quiet lad, very shy, though he doesn't mind company. He likes to make friends, but he won't be the person to make the first move. He's also very soft spoken and very rarely ever shows a temper. He's a great listener and tries to give the best advice in his capability and he almost always speaks the truth, almost painfully so for he never sugar coats anything and is quite blunt for being mild mannered. He's a very bright and intelligent lad, but every once and awhile his eyes will hold sadness and the reason is unknown. Her caries some unmentioned secret and if ever asked about it he just brushes it off. Cairbre appears to be the boy whose everybody's best friend. People always seem to be going to him for an ear to listen or for some advice, but he's never seen with a male or female in any romantic fashion. It's hard to tell what side of the fence Cairbre walks on for he never seems to openly flirt. Though others have tried to openly flirt with him though nothing ever really comes of it, not in public at least. Cairbre care a great deal for his sister, almost to the point of being too much, or so it seems sometimes. But his sister and the dolphins are the only ones who truly know what Cairbre is really like, what his aspirations and dreams are. And he’ll protect his sister fiercely for she’s the only family he really has. History: Cairbre was born and raised with his twin, Ceinlys, at a small cot hold along the coast of Southern Pern. Cairbre and Ceinlys had a fairly normal childhood; the pair was and still is very close. Cairbre and his twin were the only children of their parents, and they were raised in a very loving home, or so they though. Cairbre developed a love for the ocean early on, and when he was around eight his father brought him to the dolphin hall to see the dolphins and from then on all Cairbre wanted to do was work with the Dolphins. However when Cairbre and Ceinlys were nine, tragedy struck the family. Their father had brought them down to the beach to collect shells and do a little fishing from the small dingy they had. It was near dusk when the twins came screaming back to the hold, faces pale with terror, and no father in tow. Their mother could get nothing straight from her children's incoherent babbling. The screams brought others to them and their mother along with a few other men from the hold went to the shore to find what was wrong. But they found nothing, no sign of their father. The dingy was floating only a few yards off shore, not tethered or anchored, and unoccupied except for a basket of caught fish. Everything was calm there, as if nothing had happened, but their father was nowhere to be found. The twins wouldn't speak of what happened, no matter who tried to get them to talk and they frequently woke up in the night screaming in nightmare. It was a few days later that their father's body washed to shore with very clear signs he'd been murdered, but still the children wouldn't talk. It was a long time before the children seemed to move on from the terrible event. To add to the strangeness of this tragedy their mother grieved for barely a day and it was only a month later she was remarried to a man whom she showed more affection to then the twin’s father. A mother whom had doted on the twins when their father was still alive now barely spoke two words to them. The change was not lost on the twins, or anyone else that was close to the family. The twins grew to rely heavily on each other for that was all they had. Rumors flew around that their mother had had their father murdered, rumors that said their fathered had had a huge gambling debt also surfaced, though the truth was well hidden. Only the twins know what really happened, and neither will speak of it. When Cairbre was thirteen, without a word to his mother or stepfather, he packed what precious belongings he had and he and his twin traveled to the Dolphin Hall. Cairbre began to study to be a dolpineer and his twin help in the kitchens at the hall. Then the unexpected happened. All in one day, an Arolos search dragon searched the twins. Cairbre had never had any plans to be a rider, and to have a dragon suddenly appear and tell him he'd make a good candidate shocked the young lad. He was ready to say no, but the look in Ceinlys’s eyes he couldn't do it. He knew how she had always dreamed of becoming a candidate and a rider, and Cairbre refused to have them separated. And now the pair is headed to Arolos.
